Hola Fellow Human Beings ...

I've decided to keep an online blog so all my chums can track my little (or big) adventures! I'm new to this blogging malarky so you'll have to bear with me while I work it all out.

This is where the story begins.

Once upon a time, there was a young girl (26 can still be considered young!) called Nikki who was overall bored with the humdrum and chaos of London life....

It all started with the trip to NYC I guess... loved it, got back to London and thought what the hell, I'm gonna do it. So, went to the American Embassy, waited for 3 and a half hours for the "interview". What I want to know is, what's with all the stupid questions?? Am I a terrorist : only on the weekends. Have I ever been involved in prostitution : ermmmm, well there was that time.... Have I ever participated in people trafficking / kidnapped a child : Actually, there's a 5 year old in my handbag. All for the bargain price of 100 quid! Money well spent I say!

Then I booked a flight - departing London on 2 June, after that, I have no plans really. I've decided to keep all plans to a minimum to avoid disappointment, stress, pressure and all of the above. All I know is that I want to spend some time in Manhatten, maybe get some bar work, and have a fun summer. In an ideal world, I'd then do some travelling around South America and then who knows...??? I'm thinking life is far too short, you're only young once and at some point I guess I'm going to have to grow up / behave life an adult / get some responsibily / blah blah blah. But for now, I'm just going to remain Princess Nikki!

Handed my notice in this week which was pretty scary ... actually everytime I think about it now, my heart ends up in my throat but I'm thinking nerves are good :-) So, only 8 weeks to go and I can't bloody wait! Booked my accomodation too ... a week in a 6 bed dorm in a hostel near Times Square - lovely. 250 quid a week which is bloody extortionate really. Now I'm thinking i've been in the wrong job for the past 5 years (ha!) and really I should go and buy a house in NYC and rent the room out... anyone have any spare cash?

So... that's it for now. Will update you soon (not that I'm expected much to happen between now and then but I'm sure I'll have something to write about! :-) I have to go and get some beauty sleep ... still suffering from the worst hangover ever! So, much for the "no drinking" oath I took last week! Loser.....
